Pikralida sp. z o.o. is currently looking for candidates for the position of Organic Chemist. The candidate will work to synthesise compounds for biological assessment and will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to help drive early-stage discovery projects. The candidate will have a strong background in organic chemistry. Awareness of related scientific disciplines (e.g., pharmacology, ADME, drug safety/toxicology) is desired but not essential. They will be able to independently design experiments to achieve desired outcomes
Location: Łódź
Key Responsibilities:
- laboratory work including the design and conduct of experiments
- synthesis, isolation, purification and characterisation of synthetized compounds
- designing synthetic pathways based on literature and patent analysis
- optimising synthetic methodology as needed
- summarising results into reports
Skills & Experience:
- a degree in chemistry-related discipline at BSc/MSc level and a PhD in a relevant area of research, or the equivalent industrial experience
- strong knowledge of contemporary synthetic organic chemistry
- the ability to propose experimental strategies, troubleshoot laboratory-based problems and make a positive contribution to the practical delivery of project compounds
- the ability to conduct multi-step organic syntheses on a scale form several milligrams to several tens of grams
- practical knowledge of various purification techniques of organic compounds, in particular by column chromatography and crystallization
- ability to communicate in English, both verbal and in writing
- excellent communication and time management skills
- strong interpersonal skills
